How to improve the service life of explosion-proof motors

First of all, before using the explosion-proof motor, we must carefully check whether the explosion-proof motor has serious mechanical damage during transportation, hoisting or installation. If there is any irreparable mechanical damage, the explosion-proof motor of the same type must be replaced.
The explosion-proof motor must adopt the correct installation process, and the force should be uniform during installation to avoid deformation of the explosion-proof surface due to improper operation. The fastening screw of the sealing ring of the explosion-proof motor cannot be tightened too tightly or too loosely. If it is too tight, the sealing ring will be fractured due to excessive force; if it is too loose, the sealing ring is easily damaged by external corrosion and loses its sealing effect.
In order to improve the service life of the explosion-proof motor, the explosion-proof motor should be inspected and maintained regularly. The interval time can be based on the type of motor,
It is decided by environment. The main inspection and maintenance items are as follows:
(1) Remove sundries, dust, and oil sludge on the outside of the motor frame in time. If there is a lot of dust in the operating environment, it must be cleaned every day.
(2) Frequently check whether the motor terminals and screws are loose or burnt.
(3) Regularly measure the insulation resistance of the motor, especially if the operating environment is humid.
(4) Regularly clean the bearings with kerosene and replace with new oil (usually once every six months). When changing the oil, it should not be filled up, generally occupying 1/2~1/3 of the oil chamber, otherwise, it will easily heat up or be thrown out. Adding people from one side can squeeze out impurities that have not been cleaned from the other side.
(5) Regularly check the vulnerable parts of the electrical starting equipment to see if the contacts and terminals are burnt, oxidized, and whether they are in good contact.
(6) Inspection of insulation conditions. The insulating capacity of the insulating material varies with the degree of dryness, so it is very important to keep the motor windings dry. The existence of factors such as humid working environment of the motor and corrosive gas in the workplace will destroy the insulation of the motor. The most common is the winding ground fault, that is, the insulation is damaged, so that the live part touches the metal part that should not be live, such as the casing. This kind of fault not only affects the normal operation of the motor. It can also endanger personal safety. Therefore, when the motor is in use, the insulation resistance should be checked frequently, and attention should also be paid to whether the grounding of the motor casing is reliable.
(7) In addition to the regular maintenance of the motor according to the above items, it is also necessary to overhaul the motor and related mechanical equipment in a planned way. Carry out a thorough and comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the motor, supplement the missing and worn components of the motor, thoroughly remove the dust and dirt inside and outside the motor, check the insulation, clean the bearings and check their wear.
Explosion-proof motors are mainly used in harsh environments such as flammable and explosive. Usually these motors are used in harsh environments, and maintenance personnel are irresponsible to check the starting equipment of the motor, which will accelerate insulation aging and damage the motor. Therefore, we must strengthen the inspection and maintenance of the motor to improve the service life of the explosion-proof motor.
